▼Marathon The marathon course starts and finishes at Rohto Field Nara (Nara City Konoike Athletics Stadium). The turn-around point is located in Tenri City. (The course is certified by the Japan Association of Athletics Federations and the World Athletics.) ▼World Heritage 10K The 10 km competition starts and finishes at Rohto Field Nara (Nara City Konoike Athletics Stadium). The turn-around point is located in Nara City. ▼Mini Nara Marathon (1.8K x 2) A specially set-up course at Rohto Nara Konoike Park (Konoike Sports Park) In case of an emergency vehicle passing through the race course due to a fire, accident, injury or any other incident, the vehicles are given priority passage and all runners may be requested to temporarily stop and follow the directions of race officials. The race officials may instruct the runners to temporarily stop or change course whenever necessary. |

Packet Pick-up | Saturday, December 9th, 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. (Mini Nara Marathon check-in ends at 1:10 pm) at Rohto Field Nara (Konoike Athletics Stadium)Runner’s packet including Athlete Bibs will be provided.The Packet Pick-up is available only on the times mentioned above on Saturday, December 9th. No participants are allowed to run without checking in. |
Starting lines | For the smooth and safe operation of the marathon, participants of the full marathon and 10K race will start in blocks according to their estimated finish times reported in their applications. Those who do not fill out an estimated finish time will be placed in the last block. |

Fastest 3 runners from each age category: 29 years old or younger, 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, and 70 years old or older) - A digital Finisher’s Certificate (with the finishing time written onit) will be available for download to those who have completed the Marathon or 10K - A finisher’s towel will be given to those who have completed the Marathon race. ▼Mini Nara Marathon - No times will be recorded or awarded for the event. Cut-off Points and Time Limits |
▼Marathon Finish Time Limit: 15:00 with 9 checkpoints along the route (specific checkpoint closure times are listed in the following link). Start and finish at Rohto Field Nara (Nara City Konoike Athletics Stadium) with a course that includes a turnaround in Tenri City. This marathon is officially certified by the Japan Association of Athletics Federations and World Athletics. ▼World Heritage 10K Finish Time Limit: 11:05 with a checkpoint set up near the 7.5km mark. Start and finish at Rohto Field Nara (Nara City Konoike Athletics Stadium) with a course that includes a turnaround within Nara City. |
Competition Rules |
- Follow the rules and regulations of the Japan Association of Athletics Federations for the year 2023 and the specific rules of this marathon event. - This competition will use net time (the time from each runner's start line crossing to finish line crossing) as the official record. Awards will be given based on the official record. - The official record certified by the Japan Association of Athletics Federations is gross time (the time from the gun start to the finish line crossing). - In the case of emergency vehicle traffic or other reasons deemed necessary by the organizers, runners may be instructed to temporarily stop or change course. - Runners will be disqualified if they fail to pass through the cut-off points before the closing time or if they do not finish the race within the time limit. Furthermore, those who lag excessively behind the closing time pace, clearly cannot make it to the next cut-off point or finish line in time, affect the schedule for traffic restrictions, or who are clearly unable to finish the race may be asked to leave the race by physicians or race officials. Please follow all instructions given if asked to leave. When leaving the race, please remove your timing chip and move to the next designated cut-off point (or the finish site) using the official race bus or by walking. |
