If you want to run a marathon in Japan, there is no better choice
than the Nara Marathon, where World Heritage sites such as
temples, shrines, and the Suzakumon gate at the Heijo Palace site
add beauty to the course.

Course ▼Marathon
The marathon course starts and finishes at Rohto Field Nara
(Nara City Konoike Athletics Stadium). The turn-around point
is located in Tenri City. (The course is certified by the Japan
Association of Athletics Federations and the World Athletics.)
▼Pair Relay Marathon
The marathon course starts and finishes at Rohto Field Nara
(Nara City Konoike Athletics Stadium). The turn-around /relay
point is located in Tenri City. 
▼World Heritage 10K
The 10 km competition starts and finishes at Rohto Field Nara
(Nara City Konoike Athletics Stadium). The turn-around point
is located in Nara City.
▼Mini Nara Marathon (2Kmx 2)
A specially set-up course at Rohto Nara Konoike Park
(Konoike Sports Park)

In case of emergency vehicles passing through the course for the
purpose of transporting injured or sick runners, fire, accidents,
etc., priority will be given to such vehicles.
For this reason, runners may be instructed to stop temporarily or
change course.
The organizers may give similar instructions when they deem
necessary.
Eligibility/Participation Prize

■ Marathon (42.195km)
Eligibility: Unregistered with the JAAF in 2025,
Born before April 1, 2007, capable of finishing the marathon
within 5 hours and 30 minutes.
Participation Prize: T-shirt,Running socks
■ Pair Relay Marathon (42.2km)
Eligibility: Born before April 1, 2007, capable of finishing half
marathon with 2 hours and 40 minutes.
(Apply to both 2 applicants)
Participation Prize: T-shirt,Running socks
■ World Heritage 10K
① Eligibility: Born before April 1, 2007, capable of finishing within
85 minutes.
② Eligibility: Born between April 2, 2007, and April 1, 2010,
capable of finishing within 85 minutes.
Participation Prize: T-shirt,Running socks
■ Mini Nara Marathon (2km x 2 laps)
① Mini Nara Marathon (General Category)
Eligibility: Elementary school students and above, time limit:
60 minutes.
② Mini Nara Marathon (Pair Relay Category)
Eligibility: Elementary school students and above, time limit:
60 minutes.
Participation Prize: Sports Towel
Packet Pick-up Sat., December 13th, 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
(Mini Nara Marathon check-in ends at 1:10 pm)
at Roth Nara Konnoike Park (in Nara City Konnoike Athletic Park)
・The Packet Pick-up for all events is available only on the times
mentioned above  on Saturday, December 13th.
・Runner’s packet including Athlete Bibs will be provided.
・No participants are allowed to run without checking in.
Starting lines For the smooth and safe operation of the marathon, participants
of the full marathon, Pair Relay Marathon and 10K race will start
in blocks according to their estimated finish times reported in
their applications.
Those who do not fill out an estimated finish time will be placed
in the last block.
Cut-off Points and Time Limits

▼Marathon
Finish Time Limit: 15:00 with 8 Cut-off Points along the route. 
Start and finish at Rohto Field Nara (Nara City Konoike Athletics Stadium)
with a course that includes a turnaround in Tenri City.
(This marathon is officially certified by the Japan Association of
Athletics Federations and World Athletics.)

Finish Time Limit: 15:00 with 8 Cut-off Points along the route.
Start and finish at Rohto Field Nara (Nara City Konoike Athletics Stadium)
with a course that includes a relay point and turnaround in Tenri City. 
▼World Heritage 10K
Finish Time Limit: 11:05 with a Cut-off Points set up near the
7.5km mark.
Start and finish at Rohto Field Nara (Nara City Konoike Athletics Stadium)
with a course that includes a turnaround in Nara City.

Awards ▼Marathon and 10K
1. Overall:   Fastest 8 runners
2. Age group: Fastest 3 runners from each age category: 29 years
old or younger, 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, and 70 years old or older)
- A digital Finisher’s Certificate (with record) will be available for
download to those who have completed the Marathon or 10K,
No certificates will be distributed at the venue.
The official record certified by the Japan Association of Athletics
Federations is gross time (the time from the gun start to the
finish line crossing).
▼Pair Relay Marathon 
No awards will be given.
A finisher’s certificate (with recorded time) will be available for
download on your own computer after the race.
It will not be distributed at the venue.
※Note: If either the first or second runner does not finish, the
certificate will not be issued.
※Finishers of the Full Marathon and Pair Relay Marathon will
receive a finisher's towel and a finisher's medal.
▼Mini Nara Marathon
- No times will be recorded or awarded for the event.

Competition Rules - Comply with the rules and regulations of the Japan Association
of Athletics Federations for the year 2025 and the specific rules
of this marathon event.
・Regarding the regulations of shoe sole thickness
If a participant in the registered section of marathon event
achieves the following record in this event, the thickness of the
shoe sole will be measured after the race.
If the shoe sole thickness is outside the regulations, the record
will not recognized by the JAAF.

*Please refer to the JAAF website for details on approved shoes, etc.
- This competition will use net time (the time from each runner's
start line crossing to finish line crossing) as the official record.
Awards will be given based on the official record.
The official record certified by the Japan Association of Athletics
Federations is gross time (the time from the gun start to the
finish line crossing).
-Even if the race is temporarily stopped or the starting gun is
delayed due to ergency vehicle passing though the course, etc.,
the records of time or cut-off times will not be ajusted.
- Runners will be disqualified if they fail to pass through the
cut-off points before the closing time or if they do not finish the
race within the time limit.
Furthermore, those who lag excessively behind the closing time
pace,clearly cannot make it to the next cut-off point or finish line
in time,affect the schedule for traffic restrictions, or who are
clearly unable to finish the race may be asked to leave the race
by physicians or race officials.
Please follow all instructions given if asked to leave.
When leaving the race, please remove your timing chip and move
to the next designated cut-off point (or the finish site) using the
official race bus or by walking.
