Entry ■Application Information
1) Application Period:
From 10:00 on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 to 17:00 on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.
   ↓

* Lottery results will be notified via email on Thursday, September 26, 2024.
* Additional winners may be notified depending on the situation.

Winners must complete the specified payment procedure to confirm entry.
* Payments must be made collectively by the winner (or group representative).
* If payment is not completed by the deadline, the right to participate will be forfeited.

Entry Fee:
Individual: 18,000 yen + 500 yen x 2 units
720 <Naniwa> Run Division: 6,000 yen + 500 yen x 2 units

(An 11% handling fee applies to the payment amount. Charity donation is required separately.)
* Participation fees are payable by credit card only.
* Charity donations: Please consider donating 2 units or more per person (¥500 per unit).

If you wish to apply for charity goods, please select the option during the lottery application.
After the entry deadline, additions, quantity changes, or cancellations cannot be made.

■Important Notes
- Groups cannot apply if any member is registered with the Japan Association of Athletics Federations.
- The group representative must apply and pay the entry fee.
- Duplicate applications will be disqualified.
- Applications for the Individual Division, JAAF Registered Division, and Naniwa Division are limited to the participants themselves. 
   If you are participating with family or friends, please apply as a group.
- After the entry deadline, changes to the number of participants or group members (2 to 7 members) cannot be made.
- Participants from the same group will start from the same block based on the slowest estimated time provided at the time of application.

* Registration will not be accepted on the day of the race (Monday/holiday, February 24).
* At the time of registration, identity verification will be conducted using a photo identification document specified by the event organizing body. Accordingly, a person other than the runner cannot register on behalf of the runner. Registration must be done by the runner in person.
* If you do not bring a photo identification document specified by the event organizing body, your registration will not be accepted.

09:15/Marathon Wave 1 starts. The subsequent waves start sequentially.
・The third wave of the 720<Naniwa> Marathon (Challenge Run) starts.
11:05/ 720<Naniwa> Marathon Challenge Run finishes.
16:15/The marathon finishes.
 
Course and Time Limit The course has been revamped since the last event, with fewer turnarounds and inclines, promising excellent record potential! Despite the rain in the previous event, 95% of participants finished, demonstrating the course's ease of running. Runners will pass through numerous landmarks in Osaka City, race down Midosuji Boulevard, and finish at Osaka Castle Park.

(1)Marathon:
Osaka Marathon course starting in front of the Osaka Prefectural Government Building and finishing within Osaka Castle (official course of the Japan Association of Athletics Federations (JAAF), World Athletics (WA), and the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS)
・Time limit: 7 hours (race ends at 16:15). The time limit is based on the starting gun of the first wave.

(2)720 (Naniwa) Marathon:
Course starting in front of the Osaka Prefectural Government Building and finishing in front of the Nakanoshima Children's Book Forest
・Time limit: 1 hour and 20 minutes (race ends at 11:05). The time limit is based on the starting gun of the third wave (9:45).
Competition Rules The race will be conducted in accordance with the latest rules and regulations of the WA, the JAAF, and this event.
Since the Osaka Marathon is a Label Road Race certified by the WA, the WA Road Race Label Regulations also apply. Doping control tests will be conducted in accordance with the WA Rules.
The wheelchair racing follows the rules and regulations of the World Para Athletics (WPA) and this event.
Line-up at the Start To relieve congestion and runners safety, a wave (corralsafety) start will be used.
A wave-start schedule and waiting blocks will be set up according to the certified time on the record certificate (personal best time) submitted at the time of application, regardless of having JAAF membership or not. Those who have not specified a certified time on the record certificate or an estimated finish time will start from the rearmost block of the last wave. Please note that if you start from a point forward of the set wave, you will be disqualified.

[Priority order for wave starts and waiting blocks]
(1) Invited athletes / Elite runners
(2) Those who have a personal best time (gross time or net time) (The time must be recorded at a confirmable race held within the After August 1, 2021. If it is found to be a false report, the entry will be canceled.)
(3) Those who reported an estimated finish time
(4) Those who reported neither a personal best time nor an estimated finish time

* Pair and group entries, and members of the same group, will start from the same block.
*  720 (Naniwa) Marathon will start from Wave 3.
Qualifications
  • Full marathon:Persons born on or before April 1, 2006
  • (1) JAAF members 
  • (2) Non-JAAF members
  • * JAAF members must have registered for FY2024.
  • * Those who have difficulty running on their own may each be accompanied by one escort runner. (An escort runner can change only once at a designated point on the course. Running with a guide dog or any other animal is not permitted
  • (2) 720 (Naniwa) Marathon: Persons born on or before April 1, 2009.
  • *Runner must complete the race by the end time of the event.
  • *Wheelchair racers are not allowed.
Awards

The awards will be granted based on the gross time as follows:
※The Naniwa Marathon (720) does not include awards.

◎ The top eight male and female finishers overall will be awarded.
◎The Civic Runner Award is granted to male and female runners finishing in first place, excluding invited athletes and elite runners.
◎The Chicago Marathon Award is granted to male and female runners who live in Osaka Prefecture and finish in first place, excluding invited athletes, elite runners, representative runners for affiliate marathons, and the Chicago Marathon Award winners at the 12th Osaka Marathons.
◎The Prague Marathon Award is granted to two male and female runners who live in Osaka Prefecture and finish, excluding invited athletes, elite runners, representative runners for affiliate marathons, and the Prague Marathon Award winners at the Chicago Marathon.
* A certificate will also be sent separately at a later date to the top three male and female runners per five-year age bracket, excluding invited athletes, elite runners, and overall prize winners, and the Super Senior Award for the oldest finisher according to their net time

Doping Control Doping control tests will be conducted in accordance with the latest WA Anti-Doping Rules, the World Anti-Doping Code, and the Japan Anti-Doping Code. For doping control tests carried out before or after the race, a sample of urine and/or blood will be collected. People nominated should take the test as instructed.
 
TUE Application Athletes who have to use prohibited substances/methods included on the Prohibited List for the purpose of treating a disease must file an application for a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE). For details, please refer to the websites below.

If you have been granted a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) for any prohibited substances or methods, please present the certificate (a copy is acceptable) to the doping control officers during the doping test.

On the day of the event, please wear athlete bibs reflecting your chosen charity colors.

<About Charity Donations>
In addition to the participation fee, we kindly ask for a charity donation of at least 2 units (¥500 per unit).
※All donations will be contributed to the charity partner of Osaka Marathon 2025 (charity donation recipient organization).
※The participation fee includes 2 units of charity donations. If you wish to contribute more, please select the number of units in the "Options" during registration.

<About Charity Goods>
We accept applications for the purchase of charity goods during registration.
※Actual purchases will be made by participants confirmed through a lottery.
※A portion of the sales revenue, excluding production costs, will be donated to the charity partner of Osaka Marathon 2025 (charity donation recipient organization).
