The 79th KAGAWA MARUGAME INTERNATIONAL HALF MARATHON

Important Notes for Participants

1. Each participant may enter only one event.

2. Registered athletes must accurately enter their club name as it appears in the Japan Association of Athletics Federations (JAAF) registry.

3. Rankings for each event and division will be determined by net time for the Half Marathon Open Division, and by gross time for all other events and divisions.

4. Starting order will be based on declared times (personal bests or projected times from January 1, 2023, onward). Please refrain from submitting false information, as it hinders the safe operation of the event. Participants who do not enter a time will start from the final block.

5. Runners may be asked to stop temporarily to allow emergency vehicles to pass.

6. In the event of injury or illness during the event, the organizer will provide first aid only. The organizer assumes no responsibility for the methods used or the outcomes (please bring your health insurance card, etc.).

7. Take good care of your health. Be sure to consult a doctor before the event and follow their instructions. If you are not feeling well on the day of the event or if there is a risk of infection from a contagious disease, please withdraw from the race.

8. You may leave your personal belongings at the designated area, but the organizers assume no responsibility for theft or loss.

9. Please download your personal results certificate from the official event website. The results for all participants will be posted on the official event website after the event concludes. If you wish to receive an officially certified results certificate (1,000 yen) for the category in which you registered, please apply at the General Information Desk on the day of the event.

10. Please comply with the Japan Association of Athletics Federations’ “Regulations on Competition Shoes (click here),” specifically the requirement that “shoe soles must not exceed 40 mm in height.” We may inspect the shoes of some participants after the race.

11. If you have a disability and require a guide runner, we will provide a special athlete bib for your guide runner; please contact the organizing committee after completing your registration. Please note that participation with a guide dog or in a wheelchair is not permitted.

12. Participants who registered through JTB will receive their exchange tickets and event information via email prior to the event.

13. Please use public transportation or the shuttle bus (free of charge; runs round-trip between JR Marugame Station and the temporary parking lot to the venue) whenever possible.

Terms and Conditions of Registration and Privacy Policy

Participants must agree to the following terms before registering.

1. You may not change, modify, or cancel your registration after submission for personal reasons.

2. If the event is postponed, scaled back, or canceled due to circumstances beyond the organizer’s control (including earthquakes, wind and flood damage, snowfall, incidents, accidents, and infectious diseases such as epidemics), the organizer will determine whether to refund the participation fee and the amount of any refund after deducting expenses incurred up to the time of the decision. However, please note that entry fees are non-refundable for participants who obtained their entry rights through the “Furusato Nozei” (Hometown Tax) program.

3. The organizer assumes no responsibility whatsoever for participants who are unable to attend due to tardiness caused by public transportation or road conditions on the day of the event.

4. The organizer may instruct the suspension of the event if it determines that continuing the competition would be impractical during the event, or for other reasons related to safety management or event operations.

5. The organizer assumes no responsibility whatsoever for injuries, accidents, or lost items not attributable to the organizer. Compensation for accidents or injuries occurring during the event will be limited to the coverage provided by the insurance policy taken out by the organizer.

6. Please obtain consent from a relative, guardian, or team member (in the case of a group entry) before participating.

7. In addition to the above registration terms and conditions, participants must comply with the competition guidelines separately established by the organizer (in the event of any discrepancy, the competition guidelines shall take precedence).

8. For the purpose of improving services for event participants, personal information will be used for sending participation guides, results notifications, and related information; providing information about future events; offering services from event partners, affiliated organizations, and the Japan Premier Half Series Secretariat; and publishing rankings and records. Additionally, the organizer or its designated agents may contact participants to verify the details of their registration.

9. Event videos, photographs, articles, records, and other materials (including personal information such as name, age, gender, and likeness rights) may be reported on, published, or used in newspapers, television, magazines, the Internet, event printed materials, and various media for the announcement of results. Furthermore, the rights to publish and use such materials belong to the organizer.

10. The organizer may provide personal information to public health centers, medical institutions, and other entities for the purpose of preventing the spread of infectious diseases.
