If you want to run a marathon in Japan, there is no better choice
than the Nara Marathon, where World Heritage sites such as
temples, shrines, and the Suzakumon gate at the Heijo Palace site
add beauty to the course.

Course ▼Marathon
The marathon course starts and finishes at Rohto Field Nara
(Nara City Konoike Athletics Stadium). The turn-around point
is located in Tenri City. (The course is certified by the Japan
Association of Athletics Federations.)

The marathon course starts and finishes at Rohto Field Nara
(Nara City Konoike Athletics Stadium). The turn-around /relay
point is located in Tenri City. 
▼World Heritage 10K
The 10 km competition starts and finishes at Rohto Field Nara
(Nara City Konoike Athletics Stadium). The turn-around point
is located in Nara City.
▼Mini Nara Marathon 
A specially set-up course at Rohto Nara Konoike Park
(Konoike Sports Park)

In case of emergency vehicles passing through the course for the
purpose of transporting injured or sick runners, fire, accidents,
etc., priority will be given to such vehicles.
For this reason, runners may be instructed to stop temporarily or
change course.
The organizers may give similar instructions when they deem
necessary.
Eligibility/Participation Prize

■ Marathon (42.195km)
Eligibility: Unregistered with the JAAF in 2026,
Born before April 1, 2008, capable of finishing the marathon
within 5 hours and 30 minutes.
Participation Prize: T-shirt,Running socks
■ Pair Relay Marathon (42.2km)
Eligibility: Born before April 1, 2008, capable of finishing half
marathon with 2 hours and 40 minutes.
(Apply to both 2 applicants)
Participation Prize: T-shirt,Running socks
■ World Heritage 10K(10km)
① Eligibility: Born before April 1, 2008, capable of finishing within 85 minutes.
② Eligibility: Born between April 2, 2008, and April 1, 2011,
capable of finishing within 85 minutes.
Participation Prize: T-shirt,Running socks
■ Mini Nara Marathon (2km x 2 laps)
① Mini Nara Marathon (General Category)
Eligibility: Elementary school students and above, time limit:
60 minutes.
② Mini Nara Marathon (Pair Relay Category)
Eligibility: Elementary school students and above, time limit:
60 minutes.

Packet Pick-up Sat. December 12th, 2026   10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
(Mini Nara Marathon check-in ends at 1:10 pm)
at Roth Nara Konnoike Park (in Nara City Konnoike Athletic Park)
・The Packet Pick-up for all events is available only on the times
mentioned above on Saturday, December 12th.
・Runner’s packet including Athlete Bibs will be provided.
・No participants are allowed to run without checking in.
Starting lines To ensure a safe and smooth start, participants in the Marathon, Pair Relay Marathon, and World Heritage 10K will be assigned to starting blocks based on the estimated finishing times provided at registration (regardless of whether they are registered with the Japan Association of Athletics Federations). Participants who do not provide an estimated finishing time at registration will start from the back of the pack. Please provide a time that accurately reflects your actual running ability. We may verify this information.
Cut-off Points and Time Limits

▼Marathon
Finish Time Limit: 3:00 p.m. with 8 Cut-off Points along the route. 
▼Pair Relay Marathon
Finish Time Limit: 3:00 p.m. with 8 Cut-off Points along the route.
Time limit at the relay point: 12:35 p.m.
▼World Heritage 10K
Finish Time Limit: 11:05 a.m. with a Cut-off Point near the 7.5km mark.
▼Mini Nara Marathon
Finish time limit: 3:00 p.m.

Awards ▼Marathon & World Heritage 10K
① Overall: Men’s and Women’s 1st–8th place
② Age Groups: Men’s and Women’s 1st–3rd place (Under 29, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70+)
・A completion certificate (including your time) will be available for download on your computer or other device after the race. Certificates will not be distributed at the venue.
・Japan Association of Athletics Federations (JAAF) certified times will be based on gross time. For information regarding certified time certificates (fee required), please refer to the instructions sent in advance. (Marathon registration category only)
・Marathon finishers will receive a finisher’s towel and a finisher’s medal.
▼Pair Relay Marathon
No awards will be presented.
・You can download your completion certificate (with your time recorded) on your own computer or other device after the race. Certificates will not be distributed at the venue.
*Certificates will not be issued if either the first or second runner does not finish.
・ If either the first or second runner completes their section, that runner will receive a finisher's medal and a finisher's towel.
▼Mini Nara Marathon
There will be no awards ceremony or official timing.

*There will also be special awards. Details will be announced on the event website at a later date.
Competition Rules - Comply with the rules and regulations of the Japan Association of Athletics Federations for the year 2026 and the specific rules of this marathon event.
- This competition will use net time (the time from each runner's start line crossing to finish line crossing) as the official record. Awards will be given based on the official record. The official record certified by the Japan Association of Athletics Federations is gross time (the time from the gun start to the finish line crossing).
-Even if the race is temporarily stopped or the starting gun is delayed due to ergency vehicle passing though the course, etc., the records of time or cut-off times will not be ajusted.
- Runners will be disqualified if they fail to pass through the cut-off points before the closing time or if they do not finish the race within the time limit. Furthermore, those who lag excessively behind the closing time pace,clearly cannot make it to the next cut-off point or finish line in time,affect the schedule for traffic restrictions, or who are
clearly unable to finish the race may be asked to leave the race by physicians or race officials. Please follow all instructions given if asked to leave. When leaving the race, please remove your timing chip and move to the next designated cut-off point (or the finish site) using the official race bus or by walking.
