Event Participation Rules and Regulations
[Registration Terms and Conditions]
Participants must agree to the following registration terms and conditions before applying.
(1) In the event of cancellation due to circumstances beyond the organizer’s control—including earthquakes, wind and flood damage, snowfall, incidents, accidents, or illness—the organizer will determine whether a refund will be issued and, if so, the amount, taking into account expenses incurred up to the time the cancellation decision was made. Please note, however, that entry fees obtained through the “Furusato Nozei” (Hometown Tax Donation) program are not eligible for refunds.
(2) We cannot accommodate changes to event categories, amendments to registration details, cancellations, or refunds of participation fees or handling charges after registration due to personal circumstances.
(3) Please ensure that the name entered during registration matches the name on the identification document (such as a passport) you will present at check-in on the day before the event.
(4) False declarations regarding age, gender, or personal records, the transfer of entry rights, or participation by anyone other than the registered applicant (substitute participation) are not permitted.
If any of these violations are discovered, the participant’s entry will be revoked, they will be disqualified, and any awards (or records) will be annulled. The organizer will not provide any compensation or refund of participation fees or handling charges. Furthermore, in the case of substitute participation, neither the registered applicant nor the substitute will be permitted to participate in future editions of this event.
(5) Duplicate registrations by the same person (including cases where different events are selected, such as the Marathon (42.195 km) and the Takamatsu Fun Run (approx. 3 km or approx. 1 km)) are not permitted. If a duplicate registration by the same person is discovered, the entry will be revoked, the participant will be disqualified, and any awards (including records) will be rescinded; the organizer will not provide any compensation or refund of entry fees or handling charges.
(6) Minors must obtain parental consent before applying.
(7) The organizer assumes no responsibility whatsoever if participants are unable to complete necessary procedures by the deadline due to internet device malfunctions not attributable to the organizer, failure or delay in the delivery of emails or mailed materials, or communication issues.
(8) In the event of accidents or other incidents during the race, only first aid will be provided. Compensation for accidents or injuries occurring during the event will be provided within the scope of the insurance policy held by the organizer, except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence on the part of the organizer. Please bring your health insurance card or eligibility verification document on the day of the event.
(9) If the organizer determines during the competition that continuing the event would be hazardous, please immediately comply with the organizer’s instruction to suspend the competition. Additionally, please follow all other instructions issued by the organizer regarding safety management, event operations, and infection prevention measures. If you fail to comply with the organizer’s instructions, you may be denied participation. In such cases, no refunds will be issued for participation fees or handling charges.
(10) The organizer retains the rights to publish videos, photographs, articles, and the applicant’s name, age, and address (country, prefecture, or municipality) in television, radio, newspapers, magazines, the Internet, and other media, as well as the right of publicity. In addition, personal information may be provided to third parties for the purposes described in the “Handling of Personal Information” section.
(11) In addition to the above Terms and Conditions of Registration, the event will be held in compliance with all relevant domestic laws and in accordance with the event guidelines established by the organizer.
[Handling of Personal Information]
The Organizer recognizes the importance of personal information and will comply with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and related laws and regulations. In accordance with the Organizer’s Personal Information Protection Policy, the Organizer will handle personal information as follows.
(1) For the purpose of improving services for participants, personal information may be used for participant guides, notification of results, announcement of results, notification of related information, information on future events, provision of services from event sponsors, partners, and affiliated organizations, and survey questionnaires. In addition, the Organizer or a call center may contact you to confirm your registration details.
(2)We will provide necessary information to relevant parties, including media organizations, to the extent necessary for the operation of this event.
(3) We will provide necessary information to the relevant insurance company when required for administrative procedures related to the accident insurance policy to which the Organizer is a subscriber.
(4) In the event you are transported to a medical facility, we will obtain the information necessary for the provision of medical care and provide it to the relevant medical facility.
[Important Notes]
(1) Participants must undergo sufficient training in advance. Those with a history of heart disease (such as myocardial infarction, angina, cardiomyopathy, or arrhythmia) or who have ever experienced chest pain or dizziness during exercise should consult their primary care physician or undergo a medical examination. Participants are responsible for confirming their own health status and taking every precaution to ensure they are in optimal physical condition before participating. Additionally, if you feel unwell on the day of the event, please have the courage to withdraw from the race.
(2) If you experience hives, shortness of breath, or nausea while running, there is a risk of “food-dependent exercise-induced anaphylaxis.” If you notice any unusual symptoms, stop running immediately and notify a nearby event staff member.
(3) If emergency vehicles pass through the course due to accidents, fires, or the transport of injured or ill persons, or if a National Instant Alert System (J-Alert) warning sounds in the areas including Takamatsu City and Ayagawa Town, the race may be halted as necessary. Please follow the instructions of the event staff.
(4) Participants’ personal belongings will be stored at the start and finish venues. We do not accept valuables for storage, so please keep them under your own responsibility.
(5) There is no dedicated parking lot at the event venue.
Furthermore, to alleviate traffic congestion on the day of the event, we are encouraging participants to leave their cars at home and promoting this message through signage to help reduce overall traffic volume. We ask all participants to cooperate by using public transportation to get to the venue.
(6) Traffic congestion is expected on roads surrounding the event venue (including along the course) on the day before and the day of the event. Please refrain from dropping off or picking up participants by private vehicle and from parking on streets or at stores near the venue.
(7) The organizers assume no responsibility for late arrivals due to public transportation delays, road conditions, or other factors.
(8) Please follow all other instructions from the organizers regarding safety management, event operations, and infection prevention measures.
