Application method First come, first served

This is a race held under the watchful gaze of 'Bisan', which offers a panoramic view of the city of Tokushima and the clear flow of the 'Yoshino River', also known as 'Shikoku Saburo'. The course is relatively flat, with a generous 7 hours of competition time! This is expected to be the last race on the current course! Whether you're participating in the Tokushima Marathon for the first time or have run it multiple times before, why not join us to commemorate the 'last run' on this course together?

● Participants must be 18 years or older on the day of the event, but 18-year-old high school students are not eligible to participate.
Applications are limited to one event per person.
●Even within the entry period, registration will be closed once the capacity is reached.

Eligibility / Entry fee

Full Marathon (42.195km)
■ Eligibility:
(1) 18 years of age or older on the day of the event (excluding high school students at the time of application).
(2) Participants who are expected to complete the race by the end of the race.
■ Participation Fee: ¥11,000
※An additional ¥2,000 will be charged for a commemorative T-shirt.
※A separate handling fee will be charged.
Escort runner: Free
※Participants with disabilities who have difficulty running alone may be accompanied by one escort.

Challenge Run (3km)
■ Eligibility:
Must be a junior high school student or older on the day of the event
■ Participation Fee: Free
※An additional ¥2,000 will be charged for a commemorative T-shirt.

Challenge Run (1.5km)
■ Eligibility:
Must be 6 years of age or older on the day of the event (Excluding those who are not yet in school at the time of application)
※ Parental participation is required for elementary school students in grades 1-3
※ Wheelchair users are also welcome to participate
■ Participation Fee: Free
※An additional ¥2,000 will be charged for a commemorative T-shirt.

Course

Marathon (42.195km)
A course with little ups and downs, centered around the north and south banks of the Yoshino River. (Elevation difference: approximately 18m)
Water supply: 12 locations (planned)

In front of Tokushima Prefectural Office (near the Kachidoki Bridge on National Route 55) - Yoshinogawa Ohashi Bridge - North bank of the Yoshinogawa River - Saijo Ohashi Bridge - South bank of the Yoshinogawa River - West side of Jonouchi Secondary Education School - Work Staff Athletics Stadium (Tokushima City Athletics Stadium)

Challenge Run (3km)
In front of Tokushima Prefectural Office (near the Kachidoki Bridge on National Route 55) ~ Tokushima Honmachi intersection ~ Tokushima Castle ruins, Watanokado (Tokushima Central Park) ~ Loop around Tokushima Central Park ~ In front of Tokushima City Machiko Elementary School.

Competition rules

■Race Rules
In accordance with the 2025 Japan Association of Athletics Federations (JAAF) Competition Rules and the rules for this event.
■Shoes
In accordance with the WA Competition Rules (TR5.2), JAAF-registered athletes are prohibited from using competition shoes with a sole thickness exceeding 40mm. They must use competition shoes listed on the WA Approved Shoe List. Post-race inspections may be conducted at the discretion of the Chief Referee.

Awards

Gross time will be used to determine the race record, and awards will be given as follows:
●The top 10 overall men's and women's finishers, the top men's and women's general finishers, and the top men's and women's blind marathon finishers
●The top three men's and women's age-group finishers in five-year increments

※An awards ceremony will be held on the day for the top three men's and women's overall finishers, the top men's and women's general finishers, and the top men's and women's blind marathon finishers. Certificates will be sent to all other award recipients at a later date.
※The overall ranking will be based on gross time, and the age-group rankings will be based on net time.

Athlete Bib Exchange

Date and Time: Saturday, March 21, 2026, 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Place: Athlete Bib Exchange Counter (Aibabahama Park)

Note ・There are no parking lots near the venue on the day of the event, so please use public transportation such as JR or buses. Shuttle services are prohibited.
・The organizer will transport runners' baggage (only in designated bags, excluding valuables) from the start area to the finish area.
・The organizer is not responsible for theft or loss of valuables, so please manage them at your own responsibility.
・ The organizer assumes no responsibility for hydration or food intake at locations other than the water stations set up by the organizer. Also, special drinks cannot be accepted at registration.
・Athletes must wear the bib and timing chip in the designated positions so that the organizer can confirm them, and proceed to the start in this manner. Timing chips must be returned to the designated location after the race.
・ On the day of the event, please check the weather information and be prepared to handle temperature changes, rain, and other conditions. Additionally, please note that there are no shelters from rain or wind at the start or finish areas.
・If participants wear clothing that violates public order and morals, clothing that poses a danger or inconvenience to other participants, or clothing that completely covers the face making it difficult to check the participant's health condition, and the organizer judges it to fall under this category, the participant may be asked to change clothes or may be disqualified.
・As a general rule, participants should line up in the designated starting block. For blocks other than the athlete category, placement will be decided based on past performance times and expected times.
・Japanese Athletics Federation registered athletes are not allowed to use competition shoes with a sole thickness exceeding 40mm according to WA competition rule (TR5.2). Please use competition shoes listed on the WA approved shoe list. The chief referee may check the shoes after the race at their discretion.
・During the race, runners may be stopped to give priority to emergency vehicles.
・Ambulances will only transport medical patients and will not transport other competitors.
