Event rules
Compliant with the 2017 rules and regulations of the Japan Association of Athletics Federations and those for this event.
Check point locations
Time limit for Full Marathon: 6 hours * Two check points will be set up.

■Approximately 21 km mark: 3 hours (12:00 p.m.)
■Approximately 41 km mark: 5 hours 45 minutes (2:45 p.m.)
Awards
Presented to the top 6 male and female racers in each race category (high school students and adults participating in the 3 km Run will not be eligible to receive an award, but they will be presented with a finisher's certificate). Timing mats will be set up at the turn-around point for the Full Marathon. Runners who fail to run across these mats will not be issued with a finisher's certificate and will not be eligible for any of the awards.
Participation award
Runners competing in the Full Marathon can choose to receive one of the following two participation awards: a commemorative bath towel or a 2 kg bag of locally produced rice (once you have submitted your application, you cannot change your choice).
If you do not make a selection, you will be given a commemorative bath towel. Runners competing in the 5 km Run or the 10 km Run will receive a commemorative face towel, while those competing in the 3 km Run will receive a commemorative hand towel.
Entry requirements
1. Runners must be confident that they are in good health and able to complete the relevant distance.

2. Two check points (at approximately 21 and 41 km) will be set up for the Full Marathon, so only runners who will be able to reach the check points by the designated times are eligible to participate in this event. If you fail to reach a check point by the designated time, you will have to retire from the race immediately, remove your RS tag and follow the instructions of the course officials.

3. Pacesetters for runners with a visual impairment or other disability are exempt from the entry fee. However, if you require a pacesetter, you will need to pay 100 yen for accident insurance cover. Please complete the application form for the runner and pay the insurance fee together with your entry fee.

4. Participation by pre-elementary school children, wheelchair users and people accompanied by pets is prohibited.
Time tracking
1. Runners are required to wear RS tags for all race categories. Make sure that you run the race with your RS tag (enclosed with your numbered race bib) attached to the laces of one of your running shoes.

2. After you cross the finish line, make sure that you return your RS tag at the tag collection station. Please note that you will be charged for your RS tag if you fail to return it.

3. If you are unable to participate or have to withdraw during the race, please return your RS tag to the executive bureau of the event organizer.
Points to note
1. The participation awards will be presented at the venue on the day of the race.

2. You can place an order for a booklet listing the race times for all of the runners that completed the course at the marathon headquarters on the day of the race.

3. The executive bureau of the event organizer will arrange for free parking, but the number of spaces will be limited. Given this, we ask that you consider using public transport or another means of transportation.

4. Please arrive at the starting point at least 10 minutes before your category is scheduled to start.

5. Please note that personal tents cannot be set up at the venue.

6. A baggage storage facility will be available, but you will be unable to check in valuables. Please take care of any valuables that you have with you yourself.

As well as being able to try the local cuisine, you will be able to listen to music played on a Tsugaru shamisen and enjoy a performance of Tozan Bayashi (traditional music that is played when climbing a sacred mountain).
You will also have an opportunity to meet other participants, guest runners, pacesetters and runners invited from Jeju Island.
Application terms

2. False declarations concerning age and gender and participation by anyone other than the applicant are prohibited. In such cases, the participant will be disqualified and stripped of any awards that they may have received.

3. Refunds will not be issued in the event of the circumstances described in 1 and 2 above or in the event of an over payment or a duplicate payment.

4. If the event has to be cancelled due to a natural disaster such as an earthquake, severe winds or a flood, the event organizer will decide whether to refund the entry fee based on the particular circumstances.

5. In the event of safety and operational problems, the event organizer may be forced to cancel the race.

6. Although emergency first-aid will be provided, the event organizer accepts no responsibility for any injuries, illnesses or accidents that may occur during the race.

7. Accidents or injuries will be treated within the scope of the insurance taken out by the event organizer. Please bring your health insurance card (or a photocopy thereof) with you on the day of the race.

8. The event organizer reserves the right to publish event footage, photographs, articles, course times, and other materials in media such as television programs, newspaper and magazine articles, or online content.

9. The personal information provided by participants will be used only to send materials and other information from the event organizer to the participants.

10. If you fail to pass through the check points, you withdraw from the race, or a doctor prevents you from continuing, you will not receive a finisher's certificate or a record of your course time.

11. By applying to participate in this event, you agree to the above terms and to abide by the event rules.
